RIO ART RESIDENCY

The second edition of the Rio Art Residency, in July 2025, will bring together artists from North and South America, Europe and Asia for a one-month residency programme, including a week spent in a colonial Villa in Rio de Janeiro.

The creative programme will continue to build on its mission to elevate artists and digital art, onboard new talent to web3 and encourage participants to discover new ways to create and embrace the limitless nature of the digital art scene.

This project is immensely proud to celebrate and give opportunity to Brazilian and other Latin and Latin American artists. The Rio Art Residency is a project conceived in loving memory its Founder’s father, Geraldo Portilho Jr, who passed away suddenly at the age of 68 in 2023.

The Rio Art Residency is a non-profit initiative that can only happen with the generous support of patrons and partners. The programme is 100% free for the artists who take part in it - including flights, to accommodation, boarding, and art supplies. Artists also keep all proceeds from the sales of their art at the end of the programme.

This is a project for the benefit of artists - it works to enable them to mentor other artists, help them exchange knowledge, develop their skills and build solid career foundations.
